Jesus Christ

Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ, along with God the Father and the Holy Spirit, is the creator of this world. He came to this world 2000 years ago so we can get to know him. The disciple John tells (John 11:17):

17 When Jesus came, he found Lazarus already four days in the tomb. 18 Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen stadia wide; 19 And many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary, that they might consoled them over their brother. 20 Martha, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet him. Mary was sitting in the house. 21 Then Martha said to Jesus, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died; 22 But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you. 23 Jesus speaks to her: your brother will rise again. 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day. (Matthew 22.23) (John 5.28-29) (John 6.40) 25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me will live, even if he dies; 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me will not die for ever. Do you believe this? (John 8:51) 27 She saith unto him, Yes, Lord, I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, to come into the world. (Matthew 16.16) 28 And when she had said this, she went and secretly called her sister Mary, saying, The teacher is there, and calls you. 29 When she hears it, she gets up quickly and goes to him. 30 Jesus had not yet come into the village, but was in the place where Martha had met him. 31 And when the Jews who were with her in the house, comforting her, saw that Mary got up quickly and went out, they followed her, saying, She goes to the tomb, that she may weep there. 32 When Mary came to where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell at his feet, and said unto him, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and weeping for the Jews that had come with her, he sighed deeply in the Spirit, and shook himself (John 13:21) 34 and said, Where have you laid him? They say to him, Lord, come and see! 35 Jesus shed tears. 36 Then said the Jews, Behold, how sweet he was! 37 But some of them said, Could not this one, who opened the eyes of the blind man, make sure that he too had not died? (John 9.7) 38 Now Jesus, sighing deep in himself again, comes to the tomb. But it was a cave and there was a stone on it. (Matthew 27.60) 39 Jesus says, Take away the stone. The sister of the deceased, Martha, says to him: Lord, he already smells, because he is here for four days. 40 Jesus saith unto her, Did I not tell you, if you believed, you would see the glory of God? 41 They took the stone away. Jesus raised his eyes and said: Father, I thank you for hearing me. 42 But I knew that you always hear me; but for the sake of the crowd that stands around, I said it so that they believe that you have sent me. (John 12:30) 43 And when he had said this, he cried in a loud voice, Lazarus, come out! 44 And the deceased came out, bound with shrouds on his feet and hands, and his face was wrapped in a sweat-cloth. Jesus speaks to them: solve him and let him go. 45 Many now of the Jews who had come to Mary and saw what he had done, believed in him.

Here are some important things: Jesus Christ has emotions (vv. 35-38). God is not callous. He has pity on us. Faith is important (vv. 39-42). Jesus Christ says: To see the glory of God one has to believe.

Jesus Christ gives life as he wants. He is also the judge of this world. We all have to ask forgiveness because we often disobey him and we have to accept him as our Lord. The following prayer is enough:

Lord Jesus, please forgive me my guilt. Be my lord. I want to live with you now. Amen.

The prophet Joel says in the Old Testament (Joel 2: 12 + 13): "Even now, says Yahweh, return to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with lamentation. (Ezekiel 33.11) 13 And tear your heart, and not your garments, and return to Yahweh your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and great in kindness, and repenting of the evil.

The prophet Malachi says (Malachi 3:13): 13 You speak hard against me, saith the LORD. So you say, "What are we talking against you?" 14 By saying, It is in vain to serve God; and what good is it that we obey his command and lead a hard life before the Lord Zebaoth? (Psalm 73: 13-14) 15 Therefore we praise the despisers; because the godless are increasing; they are trying God, and everything is fine. 16 But the godly ones consoled each other, saying, The Lord knows and hears, and before him is written a memorial to them that fear the LORD, and remember his name. 17 You shall say, O LORD of hosts, the day which I will do, my property; and I will spare them, as a man spares his son who serves him. And you shall, on the other hand, see the difference between the righteous and the godless, and between the one who serves God and the one who does not serve him. 19 For behold, a day is coming, which shall burn like an oven; and all the despisers and the godless will be straw, and the day that is to come, will burn them, saith the LORD of hosts, and will leave them neither root nor branch. 20 But to you, who fear my name, let the sun of righteousness and salvation fall under their wings; and you should go out and in and hop like the fattening calves.
